Chams Holding Appoints Michael Uwakwe as Non-Executive Director
Chams Holding Company Plc has appointed Mr. Michael Uwakwe as a Non-Executive Director, effective 1st April 2026. The move adds financial services and investment expertise to the board as the company continues its corporate governance obligations.
Chams Holding Company Plc disclosed to the Nigerian Exchange Limited on 8th April 2026 that it has appointed Mr. Michael Uwakwe to its board as a Non-Executive Director, with effect from 1st April 2026.
Uwakwe brings a multi-sector background to the boardroom, serving as Chairman of Creditville Limited — a firm active in consumer lending, equipment leasing, capital market operations, and real estate. He retired from TotalEnergies after 30 years of service and currently sits on the Board of Redwood Asset Management Company Limited, a SEC-approved fund and portfolio manager.
He is also a PENCOM-approved member of the Investment Strategy Committee of the Total Closed Pension Fund. His credentials span human resources, investment analysis, asset allocation, and risk management — competencies that could complement Chams' strategic decision-making.
The company noted that CAC filings to formalise the appointment are still ongoing. For retail investors, board composition changes often signal a company's direction.
Uwakwe's deep ties to financial services and capital markets may hint at Chams' intent to sharpen its financial strategy. Investors should watch for any subsequent announcements around strategy shifts, fundraising activity, or partnership developments that may follow this board renewal.
