CHAN 2024: Two Countries Seal Quarter-Final Spots, Battle For Golden Boot Heats Up

Kenya's Harambee Stars secured a spot in the quarter-finals of CHAN 2024 after defeating DR Congo, leaving them at the top of their group with seven points. Morocco and DR Congo closely trail behind with six points each.

Despite the final group stage results, Kenya is guaranteed a top spot. In Group B, Tanzania became the first team to advance to the knockout stage with a perfect record of nine points.

The battle for the Golden Boot is intensifying, with six players currently tied at the top with two goals each. Allan Okello from Uganda, Thabiso Kutumela from South Africa, Abdelrazig Omer from Sudan, Kaporal from Angola, Austin Odhiambo from Kenya, and Clement Mzize from Tanzania are all in contention.

The tournament has seen five teams, including Zambia, Angola, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, and the Central African Republic, eliminated after two successive defeats.
