NYC Urges Arewa Youth Assembly to Focus on Welfare Issues

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYC) has called on the Arewa Youth Assembly to redirect its energy towards addressing critical youth welfare issues, including unemployment, education, and insecurity, rather than engaging in political actions. This appeal was made during a press conference held in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on a Monday.

The NYC's Vice President, Comrade Kehind Olorunjubelo, along with Ogun State Coordinator Comrade Emmanuel Ojo, criticized the Arewa Youth Assembly's recent call for the impeachment of Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah. They argued that such political demands undermine the welfare of young Nigerians and distract from pressing issues affecting them.

Olorunjubelo emphasized the need for youth to remain focused on leadership and policies that impact their lives, rather than getting involved in intra-party conflicts. The NYC condemned the politicization of youth advocacy and urged young Nigerians to avoid being used as pawns in political battles.
