Youth Minister Urges Nigerians to Offer Value, Not Handouts

During an interaction with journalists in Abuja, Ayodele Wisdom, the Youth Minister of Nigeria, urged the youth to cease reliance on politicians for financial assistance and instead focus on skill development and contributing ideas for the nation's progress. He addressed concerns regarding the underrepresentation of youth in political appointments and emphasized that young people should actively participate in shaping their destinies.

Wisdom highlighted that many youths prioritize immediate gratification over long-term vision, which hinders their contributions to political discourse. He called for a shift in mindset, encouraging youth to support themselves and engage in decision-making processes rather than seeking political appointments.

Wisdom noted that the current administration under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu aims to include more young people in governance, with a commitment to appointing individuals aged 40 to 45. He stressed the need for strategic planning to ensure job availability and the importance of youth as a significant demographic in Nigeria's future.
