NYA Urges Youth to Safeguard Nigeria's Democracy

On April 5, 2026, the National Youth Alliance (NYA) conducted a seminar in Bauchi, themed "Birth of a New Nigeria," alongside the inauguration of 112 local government coordinators for the North East zone. Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abba called on Nigerian youth to rise and take decisive action to safeguard the nation's democracy.

He urged young Nigerians to remain civil, disciplined, and dedicated to national service, acknowledging the challenges ahead. Abba highlighted the urgency for youth involvement in leadership roles, especially as current leaders may not dominate the political landscape in the coming decade.

He expressed concern over Nigeria's current state and the critical need for youth to step forward and fill leadership gaps. Senator Adamu Ibrahim Gumba commended the NYA's vision and encouraged active political engagement among youth.

Hon. Hajara Yakubu Wanka expressed confidence in the youth's ability to unite and contribute meaningfully to national development, marking the event as a significant milestone in mobilizing and empowering young Nigerians.
