NYCN Rejects Impeachment Call for Ogun Governor Abiodun

The Ogun State chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has condemned the call for the impeachment of Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah by the Arewa Youth Assembly. NYCN described the demand as misplaced and counterproductive, asserting that it undermines the credibility of youth advocacy nationwide.

Comrade Kehind Olorunjubelo, the NYCN's representative, stated that the youth group should not engage in internal party matters that do not directly affect the welfare of young Nigerians. He argued that the Progress Governors Forum (PGF) should resolve its disputes internally without involving the youth.

Olorunjubelo also highlighted that Governor Abiodun has been instrumental in mobilizing support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, emphasizing the need for youth across Ogun State to demonstrate solidarity with the governor. He reaffirmed the commitment of the NYCN to support President Tinubu's agenda and ensure Ogun State plays a decisive role in the upcoming electoral cycle.
