Chaos in Edo South APC Primary as Two Claim Victory

The Edo South APC primary experienced significant turmoil as both Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and Hon. Omoregi Ogbeide-Ihama declared themselves winners.

The primary, conducted across 77 wards in seven local government areas, saw Ogbeide-Ihama initially announced as the winner by a faction led by Muhammadu Kabiru, who reported he received 27,154 votes, while Ize-Iyamu garnered 6,785 votes. However, a dramatic twist occurred when Kabiru later announced a separate result declaring Ize-Iyamu the winner with 33,399 votes against Ogbeide-Ihama's 12,560 votes.

This conflict has escalated tensions within the APC, raising concerns about the legitimacy of the primary's conduct. Ize-Iyamu expressed gratitude for the support he received and emphasized his commitment to representing the people of Edo South.

The situation remains uncertain as both factions continue to assert their claims.
