Ric Chelle Addresses Financial Talks Amid Team Preparations

Ric Chelle, the head coach of Nigeria's national football team, confirmed that financial issues are part of ongoing discussions regarding his contract with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). His current contract is set to run until January 2027.

Chelle stated that he aims to concentrate on his responsibilities with the national team, particularly in light of Nigeria's strong performance in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations held in Morocco, where the team finished third. He acknowledged that financial matters are a part of the negotiations but stressed that they should be handled by his agent while he focuses on preparing the team.

Chelle's comments come amid increasing interest in his future following Nigeria's recent successes. He plans to actively scout domestic talent in the Nigeria Premier Football League and evaluate uncapped players of Nigerian descent abroad as part of a broader talent identification process.
