Super Eagles Coach Eric Chel Plans Friendlies in June

Eric Chel, the head coach of the Super Eagles, has announced plans to field a first XI in international friendlies against Poland and Portugal scheduled for June. These matches are crucial as they will help the team prepare for the World Cup, where Portugal will compete alongside DR Congo, Uzbekistan, and Colombia in the group stage.

Chel emphasized the importance of these fixtures in improving Nigeria's FIFA ranking. He also mentioned the Unity Cup, a four-nation tournament in London, as an opportunity to assess new players, including those of Nigerian descent from Europe, and to evaluate outstanding players from the Nigerian top-flight league (NPFL).
