Chelsea Signs Danny Welbeck from Brighton Until 2028

Chelsea Football Club announced the signing of 35-year-old striker Danny Welbeck from Premier League rivals Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday. Welbeck has signed a contract that will run until 2028 and is set to join Xabi Alonso’s squad during the pre-season tour.

In a statement, Welbeck expressed immense pride in the move, acknowledging Chelsea's history and ambition to win trophies. He has a wealth of Premier League experience, having made 400 appearances in the top flight and represented England at two FIFA World Cups.

Welbeck began his professional career at Manchester United under Sir Alex Ferguson, winning multiple titles, including the Premier League. He later played for Arsenal, scoring 32 goals in 126 appearances, before moving to Watford and Brighton, where he netted 26 Premier League goals over the last two seasons.

Chelsea welcomed Welbeck with a message saying, “Welcome to Chelsea, Danny!”.
