Chelsea Signs Danny Welbeck from Brighton Until 2028

Chelsea has completed the signing of 35-year-old England striker Danny Welbeck from Premier League rivals Brighton & Hove Albion. The transfer was confirmed on Saturday, with Welbeck signing a contract that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2028.

Head coach Xabi Alonso is adding Welbeck to his squad as the team prepares for the 2026/27 Premier League season. Welbeck expressed his excitement about joining Chelsea, stating that the club's history and ambition to win trophies fill him with pride.

He emphasized his readiness to contribute to the team and support younger players with his extensive experience. Throughout his career, Welbeck has made 400 Premier League appearances and earned 42 caps for the England national team, scoring 16 goals.
