Chelsea FC Faces Suspended Transfer Ban and Fine

Chelsea FC has received a suspended transfer ban and a £10.7 million fine from the Premier League for breaching financial rules related to undisclosed payments associated with player transfers from 2011 to 2018. The club will not face an immediate transfer ban; however, there is a one-year restriction on registering first-team players, which will be suspended for two years unless further breaches occur.

The fine is the largest ever imposed by the Premier League. Chelsea's violations included payments made to a third party that were not disclosed to football authorities at the time, constituting a breach of the league's rules requiring good faith.

Despite these breaches, the Premier League's financial review indicated that Chelsea did not violate financial sustainability regulations. The club has accepted responsibility for the breaches and has cooperated fully with the investigation, which has been noted as a significant mitigating factor.

Chelsea's current ownership group played a major role in resolving the case.
