Chevron Signs Agreement for Aseng Gas Project in Equatorial Guinea

Chevron, through its Mid Africa region Managing Director Jim Swartz, announced the signing of a definitive agreement with the Government of Equatorial Guinea for the Aseng Gas Project. This agreement, signed in September 2025, is a critical milestone towards the project's implementation, contingent upon relevant approvals.

The project aims to develop gas resources in the Aseng field and enhance midstream infrastructure, ensuring a sustainable supply of liquefied natural gas to the global market by 2030. Additionally, the agreement allows for further investments in Chevron's operations in Block O and the Alen field, as well as exploratory activities in blocks EG 06 and EG 11, which Chevron acquired in 2024.

Jim Swartz emphasized Chevron's nearly three-decade commitment to supporting Equatorial Guinea's energy resource development and expressed eagerness to collaborate with partners on the Aseng project, which is crucial for the advancement of the country's energy sector.
