Chima Boms Named Labour Party Candidate for Rivers 2027

Chima Ernest Boms has emerged as the Labour Party's governorship candidate for Rivers State in the upcoming 2027 general elections. His candidacy was confirmed during a special nomination congress held in Port Harcourt, where he was the sole aspirant.

The nomination process was ratified by party members from all 23 local government areas of the state, ensuring compliance with the Labour Party's constitution and electoral guidelines. Colonel Emeka Osuagu, the chairman of the electoral committee, announced the results, affirming that the nomination process adhered to the required constitutional procedures.

Boms is set to contest in the governorship primary elections scheduled for May 30, 2026. He has emphasized the need for comprehensive reforms in various sectors, including security, education, healthcare, and the economy, advocating for increased investment in electricity generation and healthcare improvements to enhance citizens' economic opportunities.
