NDLEA Arrests Nigerian and Angolans for Cocaine Smuggling

On February 4, 2026, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested Ibeanu Vincent Chukwudulu, a 34-year-old businessman based in China, at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja after a body scan revealed he had ingested illicit drugs. He excreted a total of 52 pellets of cocaine weighing 735.95 grams.

The same day, two Angolan citizens, Mbandu Martin Makiadi, 50, and Ngoma Wilson Fernando, 52, were intercepted at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport while attempting to travel to Istanbul, Turkey. They excreted 76 and 108 wraps of cocaine, weighing 920 grams and 1.33 kilograms, respectively.

Additionally, the NDLEA revealed a scheme involving Olashupo Michael Oladimeji, who was serving a five-year sentence for drug trafficking, attempting to export cocaine concealed in garri from prison. The agency also arrested Adelaja Taiwo Adetayo for attempting to export skunk, and Henri Onuma for concealing cannabis in a guitar.
