China and Laos Forge All-Weather Community Agreement

On June 5, 2026, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China and President of China, held talks with Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and President of Laos, in Beijing. During these discussions, both leaders emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral ties and agreed to work towards building an all-weather community with a shared future.

Xi Jinping noted that China regards Laos as a priority in its neighborhood diplomacy and expressed commitment to supporting Laos in achieving significant advancements in their bilateral relationship. Thongloun Sisoulith fully agreed with China's support for upgrading their bilateral ties and expressed readiness to work with China to consolidate high-level political mutual trust.
