China and Nigeria Boost Youth Partnership and Cooperation

During a seminar held in Abuja, Nigeria, representatives from China and Nigeria pledged to strengthen their youth partnership and deepen cooperation. Zhou Hongyou, a minister at the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria, described young people as a driving force behind future China-Africa relations and called for greater dialogue and mutual understanding.

The seminar addressed opportunities in entrepreneurship, industrial skill development, and technological transfer, with a focus on artificial intelligence and digital skills. Yang Jianx from the China Cultural Center in Nigeria announced plans for a series of cultural exchange programs by 2026, including a fashion show, food festival, and film festival, aimed at enhancing people-to-people connections.

Despan Kwardem, Nigeria's Minister of Youth Development, emphasized that the future of Nigeria-China relations is increasingly driven by the creativity and innovation of young people. The seminar concluded with a commitment to create platforms connecting Nigerian youth to global opportunities.
