China Urges US and Israel to Halt Military Actions

China has called on the United States and Israel to halt military operations in the Middle East, expressing concerns over the potential for a "vicious cycle" of war that could destabilize the entire region. Chinese special envoy to the Middle East, Zhai Jun, highlighted the importance of diplomatic efforts during his shuttle diplomacy trip, which included discussions with Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Kuwait.

Lin Jian, a spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, cautioned that U.S. military actions could exacerbate tensions and lead to widespread chaos. The backdrop of these warnings includes a 48-hour deadline imposed by former President Donald Trump for Tehran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, with threats to destroy Iranian power plants if they do not comply.

Analysts warn that prolonged conflict could undermine global growth and weaken demand for Chinese exports, particularly as emerging markets are sensitive to rising energy costs.
