The case involving five Chinese nationals—Zhang Damou (46), Qian Jin (48), Tang Pan (41), Lin Jianfeng (52), and Guo Zhengheng (40)—has prompted Nigeria's Interior Minister, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, to demand an independent probe into the integrity of the country's immigration system.

The arrests occurred in August 2025 at the Royal Castle Ceramics Company in Ogun State, revealing significant weaknesses in Nigeria's border control and regulatory apparatus. Despite the arrests, there have been no public records of criminal prosecutions or administrative sanctions, raising concerns about the potential interference in immigration enforcement.

Reports indicate that these individuals were allowed to leave Nigeria and re-enter without proper documentation, suggesting a circumvention of established deportation protocols.
