Han Zheng Affirms China's Commitment to UN Cooperation

On a visit to Nairobi, Kenya, Chinese Vice President Han Zheng engaged with United Nations officials, including Zainab Hawa Bangura, the Executive Director of UN Habitat, and Anaclaudia Rossbach, Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for the Great Lakes Region. Han highlighted China's significant role in supporting the UN and its long-standing commitment to multilateral cooperation.

He referenced the 80th anniversary of the UN's founding, during which President Xi Jinping met with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, reaffirming China's position as a permanent member of the UN Security Council. Han noted that China would continue to deepen its cooperation with the UN and support its central role in international affairs.

Bangura expressed gratitude for China's support, acknowledging its importance in advancing peace and fostering economic and social development across Africa. She emphasized the need for sustained cooperation to promote global peace and security amid changing international dynamics.
