Christian Group Alleges Exclusion in Nasarawa APC Politics

The socio-political organization, Allianc, has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State of marginalizing Christian politicians during recent political processes. They issued a statement through spokesperson Danjuma Lamido, highlighting an imbalance in the distribution of electoral positions, particularly after the emergence of Muslim candidates for the governorship seat and three senatorial districts.

The group expressed unease among Christian stakeholders, who believe that principles of inclusivity and equitable representation are being eroded. They referenced the disqualification of Angela Aya Bako from the Nasarawa North senatorial district and the nomination of Abubakar Nalaraba for the Nasarawa South senatorial seat, alongside Deputy Governor Emmanuel Agbadu Akab, as intensifying concerns.

The group warned that the perception of exclusion could influence voting patterns in future elections, particularly the presidential and national assembly contests expected in 2027. They called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and APC leadership to promote a balanced and inclusive political representation in Nasarawa State.
