APC Group in Nasarawa Condemns Gubernatorial Aspirant Imposition

A faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State, led by Hon. Nathaniel Isa JP, has publicly condemned the alleged imposition of a gubernatorial aspirant ahead of the 2027 elections. During a press conference in Lafia, Isa described the actions of the APC leadership in the state as a "calculated assault on democracy." He accused the leadership of attempting to coerce ward executives across 147 wards to endorse a preferred candidate, which he termed a brazen manipulation of party processes.

Isa emphasized that this move contradicts a previous resolution adopted by Nasarawa APC stakeholders in Abuja, which called for direct primaries to ensure transparency and empower party members. He warned that any candidate produced through intimidation would lack legitimacy and moral authority, potentially leading to electoral failure.

The group has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC national working committee to intervene in the situation.
