Christian Women Urged to Embrace Godly Character

During the 27th Annual Women’s Conference themed “Dressed for Honour,” Dr. Lydia Odedeji, President of the Women and Girls’ Organisation, Diocese of Lagos West, Anglican Communion, urged Christian women to embrace godly character, dignity, and integrity. The theme was inspired by Proverbs 31:25, highlighting the importance of spiritual and moral qualities over mere outward appearance.

Odedeji emphasized virtues such as humility, kindness, and faith, encouraging women to be builders in their homes and communities. She called on women to recognize their worth in Christ and to engage in acts of kindness and service.

Additionally, she advocated for women’s active participation in the upcoming elections, urging them to reject electoral violence and misinformation. The Rt Rev Dr James Odedeji, Bishop of the Diocese of Lagos West, also addressed the conference, cautioning against worldliness and encouraging steadfastness in faith.

The three-day conference was co-hosted by the Oshodi and Ikeja Archdeaconries.
