Christy Igbokwe: Story of Nigeria's Late Lady of Songs Whose Granddaughter Is Carrying On Her Legacy

Christy Igbokwe, also known as Nigeria's Lady of Songs, was a legendary Nigerian musician who rose to fame in the 70s and 80s. With fluency in multiple languages, including Ibibio, Yoruba, Igbo, and more, her music appealed to a broad audience across cultural and tribal lines.

Known for hits like "Seun Rere" and "Akwa Ibom Mmi," she became a household name in Nigeria. In addition to her music career, Christy also ventured into acting and was a prominent figure in Nollywood.

She was the first female president of the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria and received the Member of the Federal Republic honor from the Nigerian government.
