Chika Chukwumerije Leads Abia Taekwondo, Aims for Talent Growth

Chika Chukwumerije, a 2008 Olympic bronze medalist, has been appointed as the chairman of the Abia State Taekwondo Association. During the inauguration of the association's 13-member board, which includes Vice Chairman Dr.

Innoc Anucha, Chukwumerije expressed gratitude for the opportunity and assured stakeholders that the board is ready to position Abia as a leading sports state in Nigeria. He emphasized the importance of grassroots development, noting that schools will serve as foundational platforms to discover and nurture future champions.

Chukwumerije highlighted the broader economic potential of sports in the state, mentioning the industrial capacity of Aba as a key factor in building a sustainable sports ecosystem. He assured that within four years, Abia will produce local champions capable of excelling on the global stage.

The board members include Okechi Onwuka, Christian Onyinyechi, Glory Ezema, Oluchi Emelik, Chineny Christian Nnaukwu, Obioma Akoma, Ohia Ifeanyi, Charl Enakhaz, China Orji, Arua Ogbonnaya, and Secretary Olekanma Orji.
