Rafsanjani Receives Transparency International's Amalia Award

Rafsanjani, the Executive Director of CISLAC, was awarded Transparency International's highest honor, the Amalia Award, on July 1, 2026, at the conclusion of the TI Summit held from June 29 to July 1 in Berlin, Germany. This award, named after the late Amalia Kostanyan, former chair of Transparency International Armenia, recognizes individuals and national chapters for outstanding leadership and commitment to advancing transparency and accountability in anti-corruption efforts.

Rafsanjani is the first African to receive this prestigious award. His leadership has significantly contributed to CISLAC's efforts in promoting transparency, accountability, and democratic governance in Nigeria and beyond.

Val Rian, Chair of Transparency International France, commended Rafsanjani for his unwavering commitment to fighting corruption. In response to the recognition, Rafsanjani attributed the award to the collective efforts of the CISLAC team and its partners in the anti-corruption advocacy movement.
