CJN Kudirat Ekun Swears In 14 New Federal High Court Judges

On Wednesday, Chief Justice Kudirat Keker Ekun officiated the swearing-in ceremony for 14 newly appointed judges of the Federal High Court in Nigeria. This event followed the recommendations made by the National Judicial Council (NJC) during its 110th meeting held on January 13-14, 2026.

The names of the judges were subsequently forwarded to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointment. In her address, CJN Ekun emphasized the importance of integrity, discipline, and clarity in discharging constitutional duties.

She urged the newly appointed judges to remain steadfast and avoid distractions, stressing the need for clear reasoning in judgments and maintaining decorum in the courtroom to preserve public confidence in the judiciary. Among the newly sworn judges is Suleiman Hassan, while Onuegbu Chioma serves as the Director of Legal Services at the Federal Ministry of Justice.

Kemi Babalola Ogedengbe is noted as the NJC's Deputy Director of Information.
