CJN Keker Ekun Urges Judges to Uphold Judicial Ethics

At a workshop on judicial ethics held in Abuja, Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Kudirat Keker Ekun, addressed judges, highlighting their critical role in setting standards for judicial practice and public perception. She emphasized that the judiciary's integrity relies on the quality of its judgments and the ethical conduct of its officers.

Hon. Justice Babatunde Adejumo, speaking earlier, noted that ethical professionalism is foundational to sustaining the principles of the judicial system. The workshop aimed to revisit fundamental norms that profoundly affect the profession and the lives of individuals.

Keker Ekun stressed that ethical standards extend beyond mere compliance with rules, requiring judges to exercise caution and sound judgment, particularly in situations involving conflicts of interest.
