Clashes in Bauchi Lead to Two Fatalities and Arrests

On the evening of the incident, Ibrahim El-Safwan, also known as Jabala’i, conspired with accomplices to attack Abdulrahman Nuru, a 29-year-old tricycle rider from Bundot area, stabbing him multiple times with cutlasses in Tudun Wus area, Dass. Following the attack, Nuru was taken to General Hospital, Dass, where he was pronounced dead.

The incident incited unrest, prompting youths from Bundot to retaliate against the Bayan Fada area, leading to a confrontation that resulted in the stabbing of Mukhtar Jibrin, a 38-year-old from Bayan Fada. Jibrin was also taken to General Hospital, Dass, and later referred to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, where he was confirmed dead.

The police, led by SP Nafiu Habib, intervened to restore order and arrested several suspects, including Umar Abubakar (20), Blus Garba (19), and others aged between 17 and 18, while efforts continue to apprehend additional accomplices.
