Two Arrested After Thugs Attack Bauchi Community

On August 17, 2026, the Bauchi State Police Command reported an incident in Bununu town, Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area, where a group of thugs attacked three residents, aged 30, 31, and 28. The police, on routine patrol, intervened promptly, leading to the arrest of two suspects identified as Ibrahim Hassan, 23, and Bilal Hassan, 22, both from Bununu Town.

The attackers fled the scene, while the police recovered a sharp knife and a sharp-edged animal horn, known locally as kaho, from the arrested suspects. During interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the attack.

The injured victims were taken to the General Hospital in Bununu for treatment and are reported to be in stable condition. Following the incident, the police assured that normalcy has returned to the community and additional personnel have been deployed to maintain order and prevent further disturbances.
