Bayelsa Boat Mishap Claims Pastor and Wife's Lives

A tragic boat mishap occurred on Friday afternoon in Bayelsa, resulting in the deaths of a pastor and his wife. The incident was reportedly caused by heavy rainfall and poor weather conditions while transporting church members to a program in Yenagoa, the state capital.

The boat capsized, leading to the pastor's wife being recovered and deposited at a mortuary, while the pastor remains missing. The Bayelsa State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Musa Moham, confirmed that the number of casualties is yet to be ascertained.

Rescue operations are currently underway, involving the Marine Unit of the Nigeria Police Force to assist in locating passengers trapped in the river. Local community leader, Mose Inen, confirmed the pastor's wife's involvement in the accident and expressed hope that the ongoing rescue efforts would yield positive results in finding the missing pastor.
