Clerics Condemn Tinubu's UK Visit Amid Nigeria's Crisis

Clerics have expressed strong condemnation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's state visit to the United Kingdom, describing it as ill-timed given the ongoing violence in Nigeria. The clerics, under the umbrella of the Concern Igbo Ministers (CIM), voiced their disgust and righteous anger over the spectacle of the president attending diplomatic events while Nigeria suffers from mass slaughter, particularly in the northern regions and Osun State.

They criticized Tinubu for displaying insensitivity by remaining abroad during a national crisis, arguing that a true leader would confront insecurity at home rather than seek comfort in foreign diplomacy. The group highlighted the dire situation in Nigeria, attributing it to the government's failure to protect its citizens.

They also referenced Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's leadership and the establishment of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) as a proactive measure for safety in the South East. The clerics called for Tinubu to cancel his trip and prioritize addressing the security crisis in Nigeria.
