Timi Frank Critiques Tinubu's UK Visit as Embarrassing

Timi Frank, a former deputy national public secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's recent visit to the United Kingdom, labeling it as embarrassing and insensitive. His comments came in the wake of a deadly attack in Maiduguri, Borno State, which occurred just 24 hours prior to Tinubu's visit.

Frank expressed disappointment that the visit coincided with a time when many Nigerians were mourning victims of violence, suggesting that the trip demonstrated a lack of empathy from the Nigerian government. He accused the UK government of being complicit in Nigeria's ongoing challenges and stated that the visit, which included a royal reception from King Charles III, was inappropriate given the circumstances.

Frank emphasized that the trip was a disgrace and showed that the Tinubu administration does not value the lives of Nigerians, particularly those in the northern regions. Despite the criticism, Tinubu's administration defended the visit, claiming it aimed to attract foreign direct investment to Nigeria.
