Nigerian Navy Urged to Support Democracy and Duty

Vice Admiral Idi Abba, the Chief of Naval Staff of the Nigerian Navy, addressed personnel during a physical training exercise held at the Naval Base, Admiralty Estate, Asokoro, Abuja. He urged the officers to remain steadfast and dedicated to their duties while offering unwavering support for Nigeria's democracy.

Abba cautioned against any conduct that could bring disrepute to the service and assured that the Nigerian Navy would continue to provide necessary support for optimal performance in assigned tasks. He highlighted the Navy's constitutional role in safeguarding the nation's maritime domain and its significant contribution to maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea.

The exercise, which aimed to enhance physical and mental alertness among personnel, was part of a routine initiative to ensure readiness for operational demands. Abba also emphasized the importance of maintaining cordial relations with civilians and adhering to human rights while performing duties.
