Nigerian Navy and NPA Strengthen Port Security Commitment

On Tuesday, Rear Admiral Abubakar Abdullahi Mustapha, the Flag Officer Commanding of the Western Naval Command, visited Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), at the NPA headquarters in Marina, Lagos.

This visit was to formally introduce himself following his assumption of office and to strengthen the collaboration between the Nigerian Navy and the NPA. Rear Admiral Mustapha expressed appreciation from Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, Chief of the Naval Staff, for the NPA's contributions to Nigeria's economic growth and Blue Economy development.

He emphasized the importance of the NPA as a stakeholder in maritime security and efficient port operations. Mustapha highlighted the Navy's deployment of advanced surveillance systems to secure Nigeria's waters and reiterated the Western Naval Command's readiness to enhance cooperation with the NPA.

Dr. Dantsoho praised the partnership and called for increased operational support in the Eastern maritime corridor to bolster national maritime security and improve trade facilitation.
