ADC Claims El-Rufai is Political Prisoner Ahead of 2027

Abdulahi, the spokesperson for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stated that the government has repeatedly arraigned Mallam Nasir El-Rufai in court, setting impossible bail conditions that effectively keep him detained. He argues that this is a deliberate strategy by the government to weaken the opposition ahead of the 2027 elections, as El-Rufai's presence would strengthen the opposition.

Abdulahi emphasized that the ADC will continue to inform the world about El-Rufai's situation, labeling him a political prisoner under President Bola Tinubu's administration. He also mentioned that El-Rufai is facing health challenges and has been denied medical attention, which further complicates his detention.

Abdulahi expressed confidence that the ADC, alongside a ticket of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi, will defeat President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming elections, citing widespread suffering and insecurity under the current government as reasons for a change.
