Coalition reacts as Rivers' sole administrator implements Reps directives on civil servants

The Coalition for Civil Service Reforms (CCSR) in Rivers State has commended Vice Admiral Ibas (Rtd), the Sole Administrator of the state, for implementing directives from the House of Representatives to overhaul the civil service. The CCSR praised Ibas for prioritizing worker welfare, ensuring regular salary payments, and initiating infrastructural rehabilitation to address the decay in the system.

The group highlighted these efforts as key achievements under Ibas' administration, which have restored hope among civil servants. The House Committee on oversight had deemed the state Secretariat in deplorable condition, likening it to a facility worse than Gaza, and ordered its immediate closure and relocation of staff.

The CCSR also welcomed the Committee's directive for urgent reforms, noting that previous administrations had failed to act despite repeated petitions. The group credited Ibas for stabilizing the civil service and laying the foundation for institutional reform in Rivers State.
