CRPP Criticizes Edo Governor Over Protest and Hardship

The Coalition of Registered Political Parties (CRPP), led by Chairman Dr. Samson Isibor, condemned Governor Mondai Okpebholo's administration for its inaction in addressing the severe socio-economic challenges facing Edo State.

In a statement, the CRPP expressed support for the peaceful protest held by youth in Benin City on Wednesday, which aimed to draw attention to the escalating poverty, unemployment, and general hardship experienced by residents. The coalition highlighted the alarming rise in housing costs, poor infrastructure, non-functional health centers, and increasing insecurity, including kidnappings.

They warned that the current economic situation is stifling growth opportunities and driving entrepreneurs out of the state. The CRPP called on Governor Okpebholo to take responsibility and consider resigning, asserting that his administration appears overwhelmed by the pressing challenges confronting the citizens of Edo State.
