Army Chief Orders Intensified Offensive Against Bandits

On Thursday, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff, ordered troops of the Joint Task Force North Central, Operation Savannah Shield, to intensify their ongoing offensive against bandits and kidnappers operating within the North Central region of Nigeria. This directive was given during his maiden operational visit to the headquarters of the Joint Task Force at Sobi Barracks in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Colonel Appolonia Anel Shaibu, acting Director of Army Public Relations, stated that the Nigerian Army remains committed to its constitutional responsibility to safeguard lives and property across the country. The Chief of Army Staff emphasized the need for troops to sustain operational momentum to deny criminal elements the freedom to terrorize innocent citizens and undermine national security.

Major General Y. Yahaya, the commander of the Joint Task Force, commended the Chief of Army Staff for his strategic leadership and assured him that the troops remain committed to restoring peace and stability in the region.
