Army Chief Directs Troops to Combat Terrorism in Kwara

On a maiden operational visit to the headquarters of the Joint Task Force North Central in Kwara State, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff of the Nigerian Army, directed troops to intensify their operations under Operation Savannah Shield. The aim is to crush terrorists, bandits, and other criminal elements in Kwara State and its neighboring regions.

This directive was communicated during an address at Sobi Barracks in Ilorin, where he emphasized the army's commitment to safeguarding lives and property across Nigeria. Colonel Apollonia Anel, the Director of Army Public Relations, confirmed the orders, highlighting the need for sustained operational momentum to deny criminals the freedom to terrorize innocent citizens.

Lieutenant General Shaibu reassured troops of the necessary resources for combat operations and stressed the importance of discipline and loyalty to the constitution. Major General Y Yahaya, in command of the Joint Task Force, expressed appreciation for the Chief of Army Staff's strategic leadership and support.
