EFCC Disowns Fake Wanted Poster of Comedian Sabinus

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has publicly disowned a viral wanted poster that falsely claims comedian Emmanuel Ejekwu, popularly known as Sabinus, is on a wanted list. The commission described the poster as fake and misleading, emphasizing the need for the public to refrain from spreading such false information.

This announcement was made on Thursday via a post on the EFCC's official social media page. The poster, which gained traction across various social media platforms, carried the EFCC logo and alleged that Sabinus, aged 43, was wanted for obtaining money under false pretenses.

It purportedly listed his last known address as 13-14 Ligali Ayomid Street, Victoria Island, Lagos State. The EFCC did not indicate whether they had identified or tracked the individuals or groups responsible for creating the poster.

Sabinus is known for his online comedic content and has a large following both within and outside Nigeria. As of the time of this report, he had not publicly reacted to the situation.
