Brigadier General Oseni Braimah Killed in Borno Attack

Brigadier General Oseni Braimah, commander of the 29 Task Force Brigade, was killed alongside 17 soldiers during a coordinated attack by suspected ISWAP fighters in Borno State on Thursday. The insurgents reportedly invaded military formations in the area, resulting in heavy gunfire and explosions that led to at least 18 military personnel, including a general, being killed and several others critically injured.

Local sources indicated that the attack on Benisheikh town involved sporadic gunfire and the burning of commercial vehicles, with the insurgents also looting food items and destroying equipment worth hundreds of millions of Naira. This incident is part of a series of deadly coordinated attacks by Boko Haram and ISWAP on military and police formations in Borno and Yobe states, which have resulted in significant casualties among military personnel in recent weeks.
