Terrorists Kill Brigadier General in Northeast Nigeria Attack

On a Thursday, a terrorist attack in northeast Nigeria led to the death of Brigadier General O.O. Braimah, as confirmed by Zannah Lawan Ajimi, the local government chairman of Kaga.

The attack, which occurred at a military base in Benisheikh, located 75 kilometers from Maiduguri, resulted in the deaths of at least 18 soldiers and the burning of military vehicles. This incident follows the killing of another high-ranking military officer, Brigadier General Musa Uba, by the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in November.

The ongoing conflict, which has persisted since Boko Haram's uprising in 2009, has seen an increase in terrorist violence, with research indicating a potential rise in attacks by 2025. The U.S.

State Department has also issued a notice for non-emergency government employees to leave Abuja due to the deteriorating security situation in Nigeria's northeastern countryside.
