Northern States Urged to Follow Uba Sani's Education Model

Prof. Abubakar Sani Sambo, during a convocation lecture at Sa'adu Zungur University in Bauchi State, advised northern states to emulate Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani's educational strategies.

He emphasized the governor's investments in the education sector, which aim to expand access, improve infrastructure, strengthen teacher capabilities, and reduce financial barriers. Governor Uba Sani has returned 300,000 school children to classrooms and is implementing inclusive education policies for girls and children with disabilities affected by conflict.

The governor's initiatives include constructing 60 secondary schools and building 2,300 primary school classrooms while renovating hundreds of existing facilities. Additionally, 33,000 teachers have been trained to enhance pedagogical skills and school management, resulting in an increase in student pass rates in the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination from 54% to 67%.

The governor is also expanding technical and vocational education, establishing skill acquisition centers, and producing 12,000 artisans annually.
