Aide of Delta Commissioner Arrested in Civil Servant's Death

Lucky Adoh, an aide to Dr Kingsley Ashibogwu, the Commissioner for Secondary Education, was arrested by the Delta State Police Command concerning the death of Unity Ekpevbughe Adeda, a Deputy Director in the ministry. The incident occurred at the Commissioner's office in Asaba, Delta State.

Police spokesperson Bright Edafe confirmed Adoh's arrest in a statement issued on Friday, September 25, 2026. Complaints were received alleging that Adeda was physically attacked by three aides of the Commissioner prior to his death.

Following these complaints, police quickly secured Adoh's arrest, while a search for two other suspects, Enos Attah and Oputa Okestine, who are currently at large, is ongoing. The Commissioner of Police has directed the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department to conduct a thorough and impartial inquiry into the circumstances surrounding Adeda's death.

Investigators will review video footage, eyewitness accounts, and records to ascertain the events leading to the incident.
