Oyo School Attack: 30 Students and Teachers Kidnapped

A recent attack in Oriire Local Government Area, Oyo State, has led to the kidnapping of 30 students and seven teachers, with two individuals reportedly killed. Senator Yunus Akintunde condemned the attack, describing it as barbaric and a threat to education and public safety.

He urged the government to intensify efforts to secure the release of the abducted individuals. Ololade Bakar, a gubernatorial aspirant from the Progressive Congress, also condemned the attack, labeling it a heinous and cowardly act targeting innocent children.

He emphasized the need for urgent action to restore public confidence in security measures. Governor Seyi Makinde announced that six suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Oladotun Hassan called for stronger collaboration among security agencies and local vigilante groups to improve surveillance in vulnerable communities. The Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, was also mentioned as someone who could help address the rising insecurity in Yoruba land.
