Urgent Action Demanded After Oyo School Kidnappings

On May 15, armed assailants attacked multiple schools in Oyo State, including the Esinel Baptist Nursery Primary School and the Community Grammar School in the Oriir Local Government Area, around 9:30 AM. Victims, including students and staff, were abducted, prompting a viral video appeal for help from Mr.

Alamu, a teacher at the Baptist school, and Temitop Mari Dahunsi, who called for immediate government intervention. The Oyo State Police Command confirmed receipt of the videos and stated they are undergoing forensic examination to verify their authenticity.

The police assured the public of their commitment to ensuring the safe return of the abducted individuals and urged calm among residents. Senate leader Opeyemi Bamidele condemned the abduction and called for urgent action from both federal and state governments, emphasizing the need for peace and safety in the region.
