Congo Delegation Studies NCDMB's Oil Sector Strategies

A high-powered delegation from the Republic of Congo visited Nigeria to study the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) on September 27. The delegation, which included officials from the Ministry of Hydrocarbons, aimed to understand Nigeria's local content development policies, which are seen as a model for other African oil-producing nations.

Mr. Franc Mouzabakani, the Director of Upstream, represented the delegation and noted that the visit was crucial for deepening their understanding of Nigeria's local content framework. The delegation toured key NCDMB facilities in Bayelsa State, including the NCDMB Gas Plant in Elebele and the Nigerian Oil and Gas Parks Scheme (NOGAPS) in Emeyal II.

They were received by Dr. Abdulmalik Halilu, the Director of Corporate Services, and other NCDMB officials. The NCDMB officials presented the Board’s mandate and operational framework, emphasizing Nigeria's goal of achieving 70 percent local content by 2027.

The visit underscored Nigeria's reputation as a leader in local content development in Africa.
