NCDMB Advocates for African Local Content Collaboration

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), represented by Executive Secretary Felix Ogbe and Dr. Abdulmalik Halilu, called for deeper collaboration among African nations to harness local content potential and drive economic diversification and industrial growth in the oil and gas sector. This appeal was made during a strategic engagement in Namibia focused on African Local Content Opportunities and cross-border partnerships.

Ogbe emphasized the need for harmonizing local content policies and fostering partnerships among African businesses. He referenced the 2025 African Petroleum Producers Organisation (APPO) Ministerial Council Brazzaville Declaration, which encourages strengthening supplier capacity and promoting joint ventures.

Ogbe highlighted Nigeria's local content success, attributing it to a data-driven implementation framework established by the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act. He stated that the future of African local content relies on practical business-to-business partnerships, outlining various partnership models to enhance collaboration among African companies.
