Nigerian Professor Urges Integration of Scientific Findings to Combat Cervical Cancer Deaths

Professor Temidayo Ogundiran from the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, highlighted the devastating impact of cervical cancer deaths in Nigeria, surpassing 8,000 annually. He emphasized the urgent need for integrating scientific findings on cervical cancer into patient care policies to address the healthcare system's diverse needs.

Dr. Akinyemi Ojesina, from the Medical College of Wisconsin, noted that cervical cancer remains a leading cause of death among women globally.

The call was made during a special guest lecture on Cervical Cancer Genomics, stressing the importance of genomic science in combating this deadly disease.
